Pinless encoders are an ideal alternative to bearing-mounted encoders due to their compact design and simple mounting options for almost any shaft diameter. Encoders without bearings are already used today in drive and elevator technology, for asynchronous motors or motors with an external rotor, or in generators, large engines and wind turbines. Real-time digital signal processing compensates for possible signal errors and optimizes drive control.
